13x01 - America Jihad - Original Airdate: October 02, 2002
Synopsis:  SEASON PREMIERE -- PERVERSION OF RELIGION AND POLITICS RESULTS IN DOUBLE HOMICIDE--When Professors Hugh and Louise Murdoch are found shot dead in their apartment, Detectives Briscoe and Green must determine if Hugh Murdoch's controversial work in stem-cell research could have motivated a religious zealot to commit the murders. But it soon becomes apparent that it was Louise Murdoch's volunteer work raising money and awareness for women's issues in the Middle East that attracted the attention of a troubled young man, Greg Landen aka Mousah Salim. A.D.A.'s McCoy and Southerlyn are left to grapple with Landen's interpretation of the Muslim religion, which may have led him to take extreme measures to exorcise his own personal demons.
13x02 - Shangra-La - Original Airdate: October 09, 2002
Synopsis:  HIGH SCHOOL LOVE TRIANGLE TURNS DEADLY -- When a female high school English teacher is found stabbed to death, Detectives Briscoe and Green uncover a love triangle with both a scorned 16-year-old and her faculty lover as prime suspects. Executive A.D.A. Jack McCoy and A.D.A. Serena Southerlyn hope to turn the two lovers against each other in order to shake loose a confession, but find their love unbreakable.
13x03 - True Crime - Original Airdate: October 16, 2002
Synopsis:  ROCK SINGER'S BODY IS LEFT IN THE TRASH AFTER SHE MYSTERIOUSLY OVERDOSE-- When the lead singer of semi-known rock band is found dead, stuffed into a garbage can in the village with a large amount of heroine and cocaine in her system, Detectives Briscoe and Green search for the reason why the trouble vocalist left rehab, making her way to the apartment of former boyfriend and disgruntled band mate of her late husband. Attempting to prosecute their case, Executive A.D.A. Jack McCoy and A.D.A. Serena Southerlyn are hampered by ex-cop turned citizen crime-fighter, Mike Foster the unconventional research tactics he employs in pursuit of his next best seller.
13x04 - Tragedy On Rye - (Original Airdate: October 30, 2002)
Synopsis:  IT'S ALL IN THE VIDEO -- When a struggling actress is found shot to death in her apartment in an apparent robbery-homicide, Detectives Briscoe and Green hope a vacation video shot by a couple from Ohio will lead them to the murderer. However, when the couple tries to make a quick buck by selling the video to a local news station, Executive A.D.A. Jack McCoy and A.D.A. Serena Southerlyn attempt to side-step the constitution in order give the police access to the tape.
13x05 - The Ring - (Original Airdate: November 06, 2002)
Synopsis:  A LOVERS GIFT REVEALS A YEAR-OLD HOMICIDE LINK TO THE 9/11 ATTACKS - The discovery, in Hells Kitchen, of a female skeleton with a $40,000 diamond ring leads Detectives Briscoe and Green back to the attacks on the World Trade center, as their victim supposedly died in Tower One. Further investigation by Executive A.D.A. Jack McCoy and A.D.A. Serena Southerlyn finds both the fiance and lover of the victim with potential motives for taking advantage of the timing of the tragic events of 9/11.
13x06 - Hitman - (Original Airdate: November 13, 2002)
Synopsis:  IT'S MURDER FOR HIRE WHEN A HUSBAND IS GUN DOWN AT HOME -- When a local contractor is found on his living room floor shot in the head in an apparent robbery gone awry, Detectives Briscoe and Green believe the homicide to be the work of a professional and set their sights on the victims well-kept young bride and her alleged lover as the masterminds behind this conspiracy. The case takes a strange turn when A.D.A. Serena Southerlyn discovers the supposed hit man is currently residing in federal prison, slightly hindering Executive A.D.A. Jack McCoy prosecution.
13x07 - Open Season - (Original Airdate: November 20, 2002)
Synopsis:  AN ACQUITTAL LEADS TO MURDER WHEN A DEFENSE LAWYER IS GUN DOWN -- When the defense attorney of a recently acquitted cop killer is gunned down outside a Manhattan restaurant, Detectives Briscoe and Green set their eyes on their comrades in blue for a possible suspect, only to discover the murder may be the work of a member of a white supremacy group. Attempting to prosecute this militia member, Executive A.D.A. Jack McCoy  must argue against an unlikely adversary, a longtime friend and colleague of the slain attorney.
13x08 - * - (Original Airdate: November 27, 2002)
Synopsis:  BRISCOE & GREEN COME OUT SWINGING WHEN THEY INVESTIGATE A STAR BASEBALL PLAYER'S CONNECTION TO MURDER -- When the body of a limo driver is found on the side of the road, Detectives Briscoe and Green discover the recovering addict was the steroid supplier for regular passenger and superstar baseball player Kevin Seleeby, making the sports icon their prime suspect. Further investigation by Executive A.D.A. Jack McCoy and A.D.A. Serena Southerlyn reveals the alleged motive for the murder as the enterprising chauffer was also blackmailing his ball player client.
13x09 - The Wheel - (Original Airdate: December 11, 2002)
Synopsis:  BRISCOE AND GREEN ARE CAUGHT BETWEEN A RELIGIOUS POWER STRUGGLE AND A HARD PLACE -- The discovery of the smoldering body of an Asian girl outside the Chinese Consul General's apartment leads Detectives Briscoe and Green to suspect the death is a suicide/ political statement, due to the victim's affiliation with the controversial Falun Gong movement. However, when forensics reveal the girl was murdered, the detectives find themselves in the middle of a religious conflict, with their prime suspect being a representative of the Chinese government.
13x10 - Mother's Day - (Original Airdate: January 08, 2003)
Synopsis:  A GIRL'S DEATH BRINGS ABOUT A MOTHER'S WORST NIGHTMARE -- When a wealthy teenage girl is run down outside a Washington Heights coffee shop, Detectives Briscoe and Green search for a suspect, believing the accident to be murder. The discovery of the abandoned murder vehicle leads detectives to the stabbed body of their alleged killer and the horrific connection he shared with his attacker. Prosecuting the case proves difficult for A.D.A. Serena Southerlyn due to her past connections with the defense attorney.
13x11 - Chosen - (Original Airdate: January 15, 2003)
Synopsis:  GAMBLE LONG ENOUGH AND SOONER OR LATER THE HOUSE ALWAYS WINS -- When a couple of intoxicated business men stumble across a man's body stuffed in the truck of a luxury car, Detectives Briscoe and Green discover the victim to be the muscle end of a well organized two-man gambling corporation, drawing their suspicions to the victim's partner. However, Executive A.D.A. Jack McCoy and A.D.A. Serena Southerlyn run into problems as they attempt to prosecute their case battling against a creative defense attorney with an inventive strategy.
13x12 - Under God - (Original Airdate: February 05, 2003)
Synopsis:  'GOD TOLD ME TO DO IT'...VIGILANTE PRIEST TAKES MATTERS INTO HIS OWN HANDS. After the murder of a notorious drug dealer, Detectives Briscoe and Green discover how much damage the deceased inflicted on the neighborhood. Briscoe is especially disturbed by the case because it reminds him of his own daughter's horrible death at the hands of a drug trafficker. When an unlikely suspect confesses, the unusual predicament leads to a tricky trial as A.D.A. McCoy and A.D.A. Southerlyn must mount arguments against a religious defense.

Synopsis:  JEWELRY STORE HEIST LEADS TO A DRAMATIC CHASE FOR A FUGITIVE; TONY AND EMMY WINNER MANDY PATINKIN GUEST STARS -- When a Russian burglar shoots up a jewelry store, killing the owner and wounding a customer, Detectives Briscoe and Green track him down with the help of the civic-minded victim named Glen Fordyce. However, when its time for this star witness to testify, he turns up missing.

Synopsis:  YOU CANT PUT A PRICE ON LOVE -- When a luxury car salesman is found bludgeoned to death in Harlem, Detectives Briscoe and Green search for his last customer, tracing their suspect through his recent spree of robberies. However, when their alleged murderer turns out to be retarded, A.D.A.s Jack McCoy and Serena Southerlyn turn their suspicions to the boys manipulative girlfriend.

Synopsis:  IS IT A RANDOM KILLING OR REVENGE WHEN A COP -- When a patrol officer is shot while off-duty, Detectives Briscoe and Green search for a motive, haunted by the possibility the victim was targeted because of her uniform. But when the evidence points to a crime of revenge, the detectives set their sights on an African-American teenager angered by the police investigation into his brothers murder. When the sports star and the victims boyfriend also turn up missing, the detectives focus their attention on the last person to see them alive - the athletes brother.

Synopsis:  WAS IT A PSYCHIC VISION OR MURDER? - When a young Manhattan executive is murdered after leaving an intimate SOHO gathering, Detectives Briscoe and Green search for her attacker, only to have the evidence point to the boy next door. However, when their lead suspect claims his knowledge of the murder came from a psychic vision the detectives are left to sort out fact from fiction.

Synopsis:  GETTING INTO KINDERGARTEN CAN BE MURDER -- When the admission director of an exclusive Manhattan elementary school is found bludgeoned to death, Detectives Briscoe and Green search for her attacker, only to discover the homicide may be the work of a deranged parent determined to have the child enrolled. However, when the evidence points to the school's headmaster, the detectives look for a reason why this educator turned on his colleague.

Synopsis:  RUSSIAN MODEL SHOPS TILL SHE DIES -- OR IS MURDERED -- When a Russian model dies in an upscale clothing boutique, Detectives Briscoe and Green believe the girl to be a victim of abuse after an autopsy reveals a multitude of old and recent injuries. However, when a toxic screen test reveals the victim's death was caused by mixing several prescribed narcotics, the detectives search for a careless physician who makes house calls and authorizes dangerous substances.

Synopsis:  PANIC GRIPS MANHATTAN WHEN A SNIPER RAINS BULLETS ON INNOCENT PEOPLE -- When four innocent people are shot at random in broad daylight by an unseen sniper, Detectives Briscoe and Green try to prevent a citywide panic as they hunt down the anonymous but frightening serial killer. Hoping one of their victims will lead them to the shooter, the detectives uncover a disgruntled employee -- who is also an ex-U.S. Marine and a skilled marksman. Synopsis:  DETECTIVES RESPOND TO A STRING OF MYSTERIOUS FAMILY MURDERS - Responding to a string of mysterious homicides, Detectives Briscoe and Green follow numerous murder trails including a distraught wife who runs over her cheating husband and the slaying of a woman whose relationship to two brothers is unclear on the surface. The detectives also investigate the abduction of an expectant mother.
